KUWAIT CITY, April 7: The Customs Directorate has successfully intercepted more than 5 kilograms of the banned narcotic substance “kratom” in a personal mail shipment arriving from the United States.

During routine inspections of incoming parcels, a customs inspector identified a suspicious package containing multiple bags and a plastic bottle. Samples were taken for laboratory analysis, which confirmed the presence of kratom—a scheduled narcotic substance under local drug laws.

A seizure report was promptly filed, and the confiscated items were handed over to the General Department for Combating Narcotics for further legal action.
