KUWAIT CITY, June 10: A case of assault, battery, and insulting a public employee — registered at the Hawally Police Station — was referred to the competent authorities for re-investigation and a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the incident. The case involves a Ministry of Interior officer and a Bedoun (stateless). According to official records, the officer, born in 1998, stated: “I was dispatched in response to a report concerning a dispute between a woman and a child. Upon arrival at the scene, I encountered a man, an illegal resident (Bedoun). As I intervened to protect the child from harm, the individual began insulting and physically assaulting me.”

In contrast, the second party involved in the case, born in 1980, gave a different account. He alleged: “The soldier abused his position by physically and verbally assaulting me. He punched me in the face, which required medical attention.” He submitted a medical report supporting his claims, which confirmed he sustained a nasal fracture.
