KUWAIT: The Ministry of Social Affairs, Family and Childhood Affairs, in coordination with the Kuwait Municipality, launched a large-scale field campaign on Sunday to remove illegal and randomly placed garbage bins along roads, aiming to protect the country’s civilized appearance and ensure smooth traffic flow. In a press statement, the Ministry said the campaign follows directives from Minister Dr Amthal Al-Huwailah and responds to increasing complaints about the negative impact of these bins in public spaces and the obstruction they pose to traffic.
The Ministry added that field inspection teams have commenced operations and are taking legal measures against violators. The effort is part of a joint action plan with concerned authorities to intensify road monitoring and prevent irregular practices that disrupt public order or hinder the state’s initiatives to enhance the urban environment. The Ministry emphasized that preserving Kuwait’s civilized appearance is a shared responsibility requiring the cooperation of both individuals and institutions. It called on the public to raise awareness and actively participate in supporting these national efforts. — KUNA
